These guidelines will lower your risk of developing cancer.

How healthy you are can be determined by what you eat. You can reduce your chances of getting cancer by eating an anti-cancer diet. American Cancer Society recommends eating healthy foods, including fruits and vegetables. This will help you maintain a healthy body. We will be discussing some foods that should be part of your daily diet.

Foods that will lower your risk of cancer

Broccoli

Research has shown that broccoli contains a crucial compound that can reduce the risk of breast cancer. This compound is called sulforaphane. Further tests showed that sulforaphane could kill prostate cancer cells in mice and reduce tumor volume by half.

A review of more than 35 studies revealed that eating more cruciferous vegetables can reduce your chance of developing colorectal or colon cancer.

Carrots

Certain types of cancer are less likely to be caught by carrots. Experts have found that carrots can help lower your risk of developing certain types of cancer. This is based on five studies.

Beans

Studies have shown that beans are rich in fiber, and can help protect against colorectal carcinoma. An analysis of more than 1,905 individuals who had had colorectal cancer at one time revealed that people who ate cooked beans were less likely to have the tumor recur.

A experiment with rats that involved feeding them black beans and navy beans, while inducing colon carcinoma in them, revealed that beans could block the growth of cancer cells by as much as 75%.

Berries

Anthocyanins are plant pigments which have antioxidant properties that have been shown to lower cancer risk. These fruits contain a large amount of anthocyanins. In a study involving over 25 patients with colorectal carcinoma, scientists found that berries had a 7% reduction in the growth of cancer cells.

Conclusion

It is easy to reduce your risk of developing cancer by eating a healthy diet that not only caters to your body, but also supports optimal body function.
