Spray Tans are safe? Here’s everything you need to know about spray tans

Spray tanning is a great way to keep your summer glow even in winter. It’s easy, you don’t need to be in the sun and your skin doesn’t have to be exposed to UV rays.

Spray tanning or sunless tanning is when spray tanning products contain elements like dihydroxyacetone (or DHA) to give the body a sparkling appearance. The FDA approved element is a carbohydrate that can be derived from glycerin, or other plant sources such as sugarcane. DHA is colorless but can interact with amino acids in skin cells. This interaction causes darkening. The darker your skin gets, the more DHA and the tan you apply. You cannot wash off spray tans easily because of the way the elements interact.

It is possible for your sheets to become discolored after applying a tan. Patricia Melrich MD, a Ohio-based dermatologist and assistant professor at Ohio State University’s dermatology, says this is due to the dye used in these products. Melrich says that a fake tan lasts for only about one week, as the skin’s top layer sheds every seven to ten days. You also lose the colored proteins.

Spray Tans are safe for you?
Spray tanning is safe. These custom-made glow-enhancing products can be customized for different skin tones. These benefits include:

Safer for your skin: This is an alternative to sun tan. You are exposed to UV rays from the sun that can cause skin cancer, premature aging, sunspots and skin spots. These products have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
You can customize your spray tan to suit your needs. You can achieve a tan that is radiant and healthy by using skin-enhancing ingredients like antioxidants or herbal extracts.
These tans can be applied quickly and provide instant results. You don’t have to spend hours in the sun to get a natural tan. It takes only ten minutes. This saves time and allows you to tan safely.
Conclusion
Spray tans are a safer and easier way to get your skin glowing. Spray tans are approved by the FDA. Good and proper use of these spray tans has no adverse side effects on the skin.
